Now that we have started putting together addition and subtraction sentences, now would be a good time to start working with the addition and subtraction flashcards that were on your supply list for first grade. There is no way around it, the children need to know the basic facts. This is also a precursor for multiplication and division. Learning these facts now, will save a lot of frustration later.

Happy first day of fall. Actually, happy first half day of fall.

Today is National Rhinoceros Day. Every year rhinos are killed for their horns. They are becoming an endangered species. Read up on the rhinoceros and discuss conservation with your children. You can talk about how everything in this world has a value.

If you have not sent in headphones or earbuds for your child please do so by Monday. We begin MAP testing on Tuesday and these will be needed.
