Thank you to Mrs. Christensen for her quick lunch activity with the first grade. They loved drawing faces and eating the grapes.
The first grade basket for Trivia Night is finished. It's great!!! A great big thank you to Mrs. Vittori and the moms who put it together. Another thank you to all who donated. We wouldn't have a basket without you.
Remember the Halloween Parade on Monday at 9:00 weather permitting. Refer to last week's parent letter for Halloween info.
Have a great weekend. Don't forget to attend mass.

Homework: Math: Handout; work on flashcards. Practice days of the week, months of the year
Spelling: Study for test on Friday
The children may dress down in red tomorrow to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated to call attention to the dangers of drug use. Please speak to your children about the importance of only taking things that are meant for them and given to them by their doctors, parents, or adults designated by their parents. Each year children are killed or severely injured by taking medicines that are not meant for them. We have talked about this in class, a reminder at home is helpful, also.
Have a great evening! GO, CUBS, GO!!!!!!!!!!! (Can't help it. I'm a die hard fan)

Homework: Math: Lesson 3-5: Independent Practice
Spelling: Study for test on Friday
Social Studies: Work on farm letter.
Reading: Read story: The Patch It Up Shop
We have been talking about punctuation and capitalization. The children know that only special names and words at the beginning of sentences are to be capitalized. Our spelling words so far have not fit in either category. Starting this test any word that is capitalized and should not be will have a point taken off. This is all part of spelling. Also any child who misspells his/her name will lose five points for spelling.
Have a nice evening. Enjoy the great weather for as long as it lasts!!!
