Just a reminder that the Reading word list should be worked on nightly. There are so many things that you can do with the list. Use the words to make sentences, play a memory game, etc.

We also need to work on flashcards each night to memorize those basic facts and to pick up speed. There is no getting around it  The children need to learn the basic facts. Addition and Subtraction is a forerunner for multiplication and division. Learning the facts now will save a lot of headaches later on.

It has come to my and Ms. Wiley's attention that some of the first grade boys are having a difficult time being kind to each other. There has been pushing and name calling. This is not happening during the school day but rather after school and on the weekends. Even though this is not happening during the school day, this is still unacceptable behavior. Please speak to your child about the importance of being kind to each other.

Remember to set your clocks ahead Saturday night before you go to bed.

Have a great evening!!!
