Homework: Math: Fact Homework 120; Work on flashcards, paying particular attention to the
subtraction facts.
Spelling: Study for tomorrow's test.
Remember that flashcards are part of the nightly homework assignment even if it isn't on the blog. This was stated in the parent letter at the beginning of the year, and explained at the parent orientation meeting. Every child should have a complete set of flashcards at home as this was on the first grade supply list.
Anyone who paid to have their child's birthday put on the BCA calendar for next year, may have their child dress down tomorrow.
Have a great evening. The weather is great for outside activities.

Thank you to all the moms and dads who helped out at the Walk-a-thon. Even though the weather wasn't quite with us, we managed to get the walking in. Your help was appreciated. You're all fantastic.
This morning there were a few children who didn't turn their homework in and told me they didn't do it because they had baseball. Baseball is not an excuse for not completing homework. I do not give so much homework that it can't be done either before or after a game.
Please start bringing in the reading word list you were given at the end of kindergarten and once again at the start of first grade. I will start taking them from the children on Monday. Since this was part of the nightly homework assignments I'm sure that they will have no trouble reading the words for me.
Have a great weekend. Remember to attend mass. Happy Mother's Day to all moms, grams, and mother figures. You have the most important job there is. Enjoy your day.

Walk-a-thon is tomorrow. If you have the walk-a-thon T-shirt, please wear it. If not, gym uniforms are to be worn. A hot dog lunch will be provided for your child. If your child does not like hotdogs please send them with a lunch. There are no hot lunches tomorrrow.
It is nice out today. Please let your cherubs go out and run and jump and let out all their excess energy. It is too nice to sit in and play video games. They need to move and run. (Only not in the classroom)
Just a friendly reminder: If we cannot read what your child has written, it will be marked wrong. Please make sure that u's do not look like a's and that numbers are made correctly. We will not guess.
Have a nice evening!!!
