I just found out that this was National Volunteer Week. Even though it is towards the end of the week, it is not too late to make a difference. Help your child get involved not only for this week, but as a lifelong habit. Check out this site KidsThatDoGood.com for some ideas. It's a good way to not only build character, but to understand that they can truly make a difference.

This weekend (Friday and Saturday) you may see people out on the street collecting for Misericordia. For those of you who may not home. Misericordia is a home that serves nearly 600 children and adults who are in need of services. Many have Down Syndrome or other mental challenges. Please be generous to this worthwhile cause.

Have a great weekend. Don't forget to attend mass.

Today is World Penguin Day. Take a minute and reflect upon how these animals brighten up our world and find ways that you can help to protect these and other species from becoming endangered and possibly becoming extinct. Talk to your children about little things they can do to protect the Earth on which they live.

Congratulations to the 8th grade class who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this evening. Please keep them in your prayers as they receive this very important sacrament.
